I don't want to over-analyze things but the movie was timely and appropriate. I find depth in the story. Finding "inner peace" is something that an adult like me, amidst all the chaos in our career, in our personal lives and everything else, should learn. Seeking for who we truly are and accepting the truths will help us achieve our inner peace.
The film is truly entertaining, action-packed and humorous, that I feel like I could watch it again and again. Watching it in 3-D makes it all fun with the visuals more alive and fantastic.
I read a negative review about the film, nevertheless I wasn't affected by it because it wouldn't change anything on how the movie made me feel. My feelings are subjective of course. I guess, you have to watch and judge it for yourself.
The movie takes us to the adventure of the cuddly Po (Jack Black) and the the Furious Five: Tigress (Angeline Jolie), Viper (Lucy Liu), Monkey (Jacky Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen) and Crane (David Cross) as they journey to fight Lord Shen (Gary Oldman).
Lord Shen, a peacock was set to destroy kung-fu and entire China with its powerful firework weaponry. But the goat soothsayer (Michelle Yeoh) had long foretold that a panda would defeat him. Lord Shen exterminated the pandas long time ago when Po was still a baby to change the prophecy . It was Shen who was responsible of separating Po from his panda clan.
The events lead Po to finally discover that his goose father Ping wasn't his real father (wow! ain't that surprising huh!).
When Po finally understands and accepts his past, he finds his "inner peace". And with his "inner peace", Po has more control over things even over Lord Shen's cannon balls. He redirects the cannon balls back to Shen's army that cause his destruction.
